Premetto che non ho avuto problemi particolare nell'installazione della Mandriva 2007 (a parte un problema ftp, che non credo c'entri con questo), l'accelerazione 3D funziona ed è buona, il sistema è molto stabile (a parte i problemi arci conosciuti con alcuni programmi, tipo aMule che sparisce di botto quando si eseguono certe azioni), all'avvio ho controllato e non mi invia errori, insomma, sembra perfetto, bon, c'è un difetto snervante che non so come risolvere, e cioè l'errore che cito in titolo e che per esteso diventa così:

Cioè, ogni volta che vado a "solleticare" il driver mi fa s'to casino, aiglx non mi funge più correttamente (anche editando il file "/etc/sysconfig/compiz" modificando "yes" con "no"), le decorazioni delle finestre spariscono, prima funzionava, non ho fatto niente di particolare, a parte installare "cinelerra" e quindi modificare un file "/etc/sysctl.conf" perchè mi dava un errore all'avvio, ho modificato la linea "kernel.shmmax = 0x7fffffff" (non ricordo come era di origine), non so se sia quello, ora cinelerra non da più l'errore, qui il mio xorg:

Non so se serve altro, se si ditemelo che lo posto, come video comunque va benissimo, l'accelerazione sembra più che buona con gli screen saver OpenGL (non ho giochi "impegnativi" sopra, quindi mi limito a quello..).

Xgl non sono mai riuscito a farlo andare sul chip video di intel :P
Quello che mi suona strano è questa tua parte:
OpenGL vendor string: Tungsten Graphics, Inc
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM 20050225 x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 6.5
Sembra che stai ancora usando le mesa e non il driver di intel, sebbene xorg dica il contrario. Anche a me fa così :P
Però a parte xgl e l'accellerazione, non mi ha mai dato nessun, problema. Prova a reinstallare il driver e a riconfigurare xorg. |

Si, non siamo i soli, St. Google è pieno di post con quel genere di errore, avevo postato pure su Mandrivaitalia e Moreno (un Guru con la "G" maiuscola, se ho capito bene..) mi ha consigliato di installare i nuovi driver Intel usciti appena ora, detto fatto li ho scaricati ed installati (con urpmi da terminale), nessun errore o robe starne (a parte la "key"), ho riavviato ma il risultato è identico:

inutile spiaccicare qui il resto, è idem come sopra, comunque per ora, a parte aMule che è "schizzato" (come un mulo...) e si chiude al minimo movimento che ci faccio dentro (chiudere un tab "ricerca", ad esempio..) il resto del sistema va a meraviglia, spero che non mi faccia scherzi.
Si, lo so, c'è il "tarbal", dopo ci provo  ..
